About us

Welcome to ERPS e.V.!

The ERPS is a Europe-wide network for all those who want to promote the recorder scene. The aim is to promote professional exchange and to bring together recorder players from different fields and playing levels. The International Recorder Biennale is an exciting forum for professional players, recorder enthusiasts and music lovers from all over Europe. The main services of the non-profit association are the website with the presentation of concerts, announcements, a regular association newsletter and free participation in the recorder biennials and competitions organised by the ERPS. Our social media channels also offer a platform for exchange and promote dialogue, especially among the younger generation.

ERPS 2026 – Outlook & Anniversary

This year will be a special one for the ERPS: we are celebrating 25 years of the European Recorder Players Society.
On this occasion, we would already like to draw your attention to the ERPS Biennale 2026:

 10–11 October 2026
University of Music Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany)

The event is planned as a festival of masterclasses with renowned teachers, public discussions on the recorder, and an instrument exhibition.
Best of all: admission and participation in the courses are free – for ERPS members and for anyone who would like to become a member.

New Initiative for active participation: Let’s play! – Your Local Recorder Day

We would like to encourage active music-making together even more – locally and informally. The idea:
A Recorder Day on a day and at a location of your choice. You take care of the organisation and implementation – the ERPS supports such initiatives with funding of approximately €500.
For ERPS members, participation is of course free.

Would you like to organise such a day? Or do you know someone who might be interested? Please feel free to get in touch with us!

New Board members

With pleasure we’d like to introduce ourselves as the newly elected board of the European Recorder Players Society. We are Stefan Temmingh (President), Susanne Geist (Vice President), Mona Grosam (Treasurer) and Nura Natour (Secretary). With the ERPS we would like to bring you together as recorder players from all over Europe and offer you a platform to get to know, exchange and appreciate the differences and particularities of the European recorder scene. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.
